Our Genesis — A Seed Planted in Rogers and Micah
Founder Rogers Talemwa was raised as an orphan. His life was transformed through the generosity of sponsors, planting a deep seed of gratitude and a desire to give back. It is through his childhood that he met then a young Micah, who became a lifetime brother and partner in Christ.
2015
The Connection
At university, Rogers meets Kabaka Mordecai — a fellow student and guild leader who shared about their life experiences and dreams. Together, they recognized the alignment of their callings and began to dream of what God could do through a united mission.
2016
Mustard Seed School Founded
At just 23 years old, Kabaka Mordecai, founds Mustard Seed Primary School in his own compound, under a large tree shade, to help his village break barriers of illiteracy and poverty. The school begins with 86 children — This encounter re-ignites Rogers’ calling after his first visit in Mubende.

Birth of Sinapi Outreach Ministries
The ministry is officially established. With nothing but faith and determination, Rogers begins by sponsoring three children. Believing that a small seed sown would grow into a great tree, expanding to more children to tangibly experience the love of Christ through education and discipleship.
2025
The Global Seed Sown
Driven by both the magnitude of the needs Sinapi was responding to and the longterm vision to extend its work across Africa in the future, Micah Stateson commits to expanding Sinapi’s efforts internationally, seeking global partnerships to increase the ministry’s impact.
